Stephen Snake- Framed Original Artwork

Stephen Snake was born on the Rama Ojibway Reserve near Orillia, Ontario in
1966. A natural born artist, Stephen's gift was recognized and supported by his artist mother Carol Shilling. Arthur Shilling, a cousin of Carol, became a strong influence on Stephen's direction as an artist. His first art show was in 1989 at the Woodland Cultural Centre, Brantford, Ontario. He has had several exhibitions since then. Stephen's art has been shown throughout the world. Some of his commissioned works can be found at the Orillia's Chamber of Commerce, Rama's First Nations Band Office, the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, and the Canadian Embassy in Hungary. In the spring of 1991, Stephen was fortunate to meet Norval Morrisseau. Stephen lives on Lake Temagami where he paints landscapes, portraits and woodland styles of work using oil and acrylic. Stephen continues to capture and illustrate the spiritual and mystical nature of Temagami's rocks, water and trees.
